Two pieces from a touring screening of one minute films,
\nthe fourth such from British filmmaker Kerry Baldry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It’s a really well put together and gripping hour
\n(transparency dictates I confess I have a piece in it
\nbut I won’t foist that on you here), with a strike rate well above
\nmost of this kind of compilatation.<\/p>\n

Here are two of my favourite pieces; both, in different
\nways, little gems of cinematic poetry.
\nAlthough Martin Pickle’s<\/a> piece is amusing there’s
\nsomething enchanting about the changing seasonal
\nlandscape & light of West London and how it manifests on screen,
\nwhich raises the work from anecdote to something more complicated
\nand lasting.<\/p>\n

The Nicki Rolls<\/a> piece had me in the palm of its hand within about a second.
\n(I’m a total sucker for near stillness and for the movement of light)
\nThen I started to think about what exactly I was watching.
\nYou might like to give it some thought too.
\nAgain, the twist breaks the confines of the one minute form
\nto resonate long after.
\nI haven’t see the other three compilations but I hope we could maybe
\nfeature a couple of pieces from each in the not too distant future.
