Here’s a striking and very beautiful piece of work from
\nMississippi based artist Tony Arnold.
\nThere is clear evidence of his discovery and love affair
\nwith the greats of the American experimental film tradition but
\nhe’s obviously gifted and visionary and very much his own
\nperson. (I love his choice of music, sounds a bit like Ornette
\nColeman but I think it’s not…wonderful, anyway)
\nThis is evidenced by his website<\/a>* too –
\nwith exhilaratingly edgy and engaging work, full of ideas –
\nI particularly like his altered fashion ads series<\/a>.
\nInteresting, very interesting, to see how this work develops.<\/p>\n

*I am uncomfortable, however, with the dangerously
\nnaive & abstentionist defence of hate-speech<\/a> there – well,
\nmore than uncomfortable:- it’s stupid & wrong headed –
\ntell the family of the next racist murder victim that the
\nlanguage that convicted and sentenced them was just a “series of grunts”.
\nI’m assuming though it comes from young artist hunger &
\nrestlessness & in-your-faceness and nothing worse.
